Medical food improves mild Alzheimer's disease
This study just published in the journal Alzheimer's & Dementia is a proof-of-concept for an important aspect of the functional approach to treating neurodegenerative diseases like dementia. In this investigation "A total of 225 drug-naïve AD patients participated in this randomized, double-blind controlled trial. Patients were randomized to active product, Souvenaid, or a control drink, taken once-daily for 12 weeks." Souvenaid is a proprietary formula; though not yet available it is similar to things that we use now. Results: "At 12 weeks, significant improvement in the delayed verbal recall task was noted in the active group compared with control."
