Children: Autoimmune Thyroiditis and Celiac Disease

This paper published recently in the Journal of Pediatrics is another that concludes "AT [autoimmune thyroiditis] is strongly associated with CD [celiac disease]...". These investigators also found that despite a gluten-free diet anti-thyroid antibodies could persist for years once set in motion, implying that a gluten-free diet alone is not sufficient remediation.
